In my essay I would like to determine that events that occurred during the 1960’s had a significant effect on some of the music that was produced. I believe that certain music and musical events derived from peoples feelings and views on things that occurred during the 60’s.

For me, “60s music” lasted from about 1963 to 1969. Before 1963 there was an entirely different dominant culture, both in music, and across the nation in general. After 1969 popular music became, more and more, a business. Native creativity was increasingly channeled into efforts to make money.
